I haven’t actually been to either, but staying at The Marincanto Hotel, we shared our beach area with La Scogliera. This area of the beach at Positano is a haven - quiet and away from the crowds. No passers by are allowed. If you didn’t have a reservation or weren’t staying at the Marincanto then you couldn’t enter the area.. it felt very exclusive.

I prefer and highly recommend La Scogliera Beach Resort on the Spiagga Grande part, it is a bit pricey but classy and quiet, almost private.
