Nov 6, 2011 · The only van that had Vortec heads along with TBI were the 3500(1 ton) vans(. They had an L31/roller cam/vortec heads engine with TBI injectors. The intake these vans used is where the GMPP TBI/Vortec head conversion intake came from. 2. Vortec 5700 hp ratings seem to be 255 to 350. Is there anyway of finding out what this is without dynoing it?

To begin with, L31 Vortec heads have 7/16" ROUND holes already in the heads- not slots - that the pushrods pass through. The earlier non self aligning rocker arm equipped heads have a 7/16" x 11/32" ovoid hole in them.
